Your new role
At Dalux, as one of our IT Security Engineers, your primary responsibility is to protect the security, integrity, and availability of our diverse information systems. In this role, you will:
- Actively identify, analyse, and mitigate security events and incidents
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve incident response plans, standard operating procedures, and protocols
- Collaborate with our Internal IT department, DevOps team, and Developers to ensure secure integration of applications and infrastructure
- Execute regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to pinpoint and resolve security gaps
In addition to staying current with the latest security advisories, alerts, and vulnerabilities, you will be expected to leverage advanced tools and technologies such as the MS E5 Security Suite, MS Sentinel, and Purview (as needed) to bolster our defences.
Experience
- 5+ years in a similar role.
Technical expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of the MS E5 Security Suite, MS Sentinel, and Purview (if needed)
- Proficient in endpoint management solutions (e.g., MS Endpoint Manager, InTune, or similar)
- Strong incident handling skills, including thorough investigation and detailed analysis
- Proven scripting expertise (demonstrated record of practical use)
- Experience with cloud-based Identity Providers (IdP’s)
Nice to have:
- Experience in threat hunting
- Exposure to threat intelligence
Technical fundamentals:
- In-depth understanding of IT protocols, Windows, Linux system administration, and network security.
- Familiarity with a wide array of security methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions
Personal attributes
- As an analytical thinker, you’re capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. You also possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities, allowing you to interact effectively with colleagues across departments.
Educational background and certifications
- A degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or CEH are highly desirable
