About The Role
Data security is a core value at Conference Manager. We are ISO 27001-certified with an ISO 27701 extension, ensuring that security is integrated into everything we do — from development and operations to customer service.
We're looking for a Security Specialist to ensure our systems and processes meet the highest standards of data security.
This is an opportunity to embark on a steep learning curve and gain extensive knowledge and experience in Cyber Security and ISO standards.
You will work closely with our CISO and Head of Development, with the goal of taking full ownership of securing the Conference Manager product after your first year of employment.
In other words, you will:
- Test and monitor security systems: Conduct port scanning, penetration tests, and internal phishing attempts to identify vulnerabilities and enhance security measures.
- Implement and maintain security tools: Manage tools like intrusion detection systems, honey-pots, and trip wires to safeguard our infrastructure.
- Develop and strengthen ISMS: Play a key role in our Information Security Management System (ISMS), collaborating with our CISO and participating in risk assessment meetings.
- Take ownership: Within your first year, you’ll transition to taking full ownership of our product security, ensuring it aligns with ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 standards.
- Educate and train: Help foster a culture of security awareness by training and educating team members.
- Collaborate with Operations: Enhance security through reverse proxies, firewalls, and network setup while recommending tools and methodologies to maintain our high-security standards.
The ideal candidate
Our next colleague has a true passion for everything cyber security. In addition, we imagine that you have:
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity with strong knowledge of web security and web technologies.
- A deep understanding of what makes systems secure and the ability to assess what works and what doesn’t.
- Familiarity with tools like honey pots, intrusion detection, and OWASP principles.
- Experience working with reverse proxies, firewalls, and network setups in collaboration with operations teams.
- Ability to conduct port and vulnerability scans and produce actionable reports.
- A proactive personality with a passion for training and educating others in security best practices.
